ESPI is pleased to share the third edition of the ESPI annual report for 2025, reflecting a year of disruption and growing impact for both the space sector and the Institute.
In a year of accelerating geopolitical, economic, and technological change, space has moved decisively into the political mainstream, and ESPI’s work has continued to evolve in response. Europe has gone through a true change of posture. Across our activities, we have reinforced our role in providing analysis and recommendations on key policy questions with our research, supported dialogue on power, resilience and competitiveness, and deepened cooperation with our members, partners and stakeholders, in Europe and globally.
The year also marked an important step in ESPI’s institutional development, with the Institute being granted Quasi-Intergovernmental Organisation status, reinforcing the Institute’s mandate and long‑standing role as an independent, non-profit platform serving Europe and its partners.
In parallel, ESPI further broadened its outreach beyond the traditional space ecosystem, connecting space policy with wider audiences including parliamentarians, diplomats, industry, academia, media, cultural communities and future generations through education and training initiatives.
Internationally, ESPI maintained an active presence across many regions, promoting European space policy globally, while continuing to provide a platform for dialogue from Vienna and beyond.
