The European Space Policy Institute (ESPI) is excited to announce that it has joined the EU Science Diplomacy Alliance. Over the past three years, ESPI has been building bridges between space and diplomacy, most notably through the launch of the Vienna Space Diplomat initiative, aimed at fostering dialogue and engagement at the intersection of space policy and international relations.
By joining the Alliance, we are excited to expand our engagement beyond space and contribute to the broader field of science diplomacy. We believe that space is a powerful vector for international cooperation, and we are eager to bring our expertise in space diplomacy to the table, helping shape a more connected and collaborative scientific future.
We are looking forward to new synergies, inspiring exchanges, and impactful partnerships across disciplines and borders!
This step feels like a natural evolution of the work ESPI has been doing over the past years — notably through the Vienna Space Diplomat — to strength its diplomatic projection, highlight the growing importance of space diplomacy, and to make space a meaningful part of global conversations on cooperation, peace, and multilateralism.
