In recent years, the European Space Policy Institute (ESPI) has grown from an organisation of 12 employees to more than 40, including a number of seconded employees from our members.
Our expertise and diversity were further strengthened through our 2025 International Recruitment Campaign, made possible by ESPI’s designation as a Quasi-International Organisation.
As of January 2026, we are introducing an updated organisational structure for the period of 2026 – 2028 with the objectives to:
- ensure that ESPI can continue to operate efficiently to deliver on its mandate as defined by ESPI Statutes,
- enable the Institute to further implement its activities in support of the ESPI2040 Vision for Europe as published in 2023, and
- provide ESPI with a resilient organisational framework in view of the Institute’s long-term institutionalisation and further growth.
A central element of this process is the expansion and strengthening of senior roles, as well as the creation of future career opportunities for our talents. We are therefore pleased to announce several developments within the ESPI team, primarily through the promotion of current ESPI staff:
