As we kick off the final quarter of the year, we are happy share that we have welcomed a host of new faces to our Vienna-based team, which is a direct result of the International Recruitment Campaign we launched earlier this year. The addition of this round of new hires marks another milestone of growth for the ESPI family and to celebrate this, we are commencing a four-part, month-long campaign showcasing each new team member, getting to know them a little better, and asking them what they’re most looking forward to here at ESPI.
Welcome to Part 2!
We’re happy to share three new fulltime members to our team:
- Juliet Hannay, Communications Officer (who will join late-October)
- Sophie Schubert, Research Intern
- Amelie Finan, Communications & Engagement Intern
Juliet Hannay is from Scotland and holds an MSci in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Glasgow. She has worked in communications and outreach across Europe for several international organisations, including the European Space Agency and the European Southern Observatory. With a background in space science, she has developed a focus on space policy communication, leading campaigns for major missions, developing cross-platform strategies, and shaping global collaborations. Juliet is passionate about connecting Europe’s leadership in space with the everyday lives of its citizens.
Sophie Schubert is originally from Germany. She holds a B.Sc. in International Management from ESB Business School in Reutlingen, Germany, and a B.Sc. in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, US. She gained professional experience in product management, marketing, and operations at multinational technology companies. To follow her passion for the space industry, she decided to pursue an M.Sc. in Space Studies at the International Space University in Strasbourg, before joining ESPI.
Amelie Finan went from a bachelor’s degree in astronomy at the University of Vienna to studying science communication for her master’s in the Netherlands. Alongside her studies, Amelie has worked in related positions, bringing together her interests in space and its communication to the public.
