As part of its continued commitment to fostering international engagement and supporting knowledge exchange, the European Space Policy Institute (ESPI) welcomed a cohort of visiting fellows from leading UK institutions in 2026. The initiative reflects ESPI’s broader mission to promote capacity‑building and strengthen global collaboration in the field of space policy and governance.
This year, ESPI hosted three visiting fellows:
- Aldwin Chia, University of Cambridge,
- Darulfa Aziza Nuraini, University of Cambridge,
- Maximilian Schwaiger, University College London.
During their time in Vienna, the fellows engaged with ESPI’s interdisciplinary research environment, contributing to ongoing activities while further developing their expertise in space policy and related domains.
The visiting fellowship experience provides a platform for early‑career researchers to immerse themselves in ESPI’s work, exchange perspectives with in‑house experts, and engage with a wider network of policymakers, academics, and practitioners across Europe’s space sector. Through their contributions, fellows both benefit from and support ESPI’s role as a hub for forward‑looking analysis and dialogue.
By welcoming visiting fellows from internationally recognised institutions, ESPI continues to strengthen its role as a facilitator of global knowledge exchange. The Institute remains committed to expanding such opportunities, fostering collaboration, and nurturing the next generation of space policy professionals.
